Travel Information to Twin Bridges, Montana

I have been an avid fly-fisherman and have organized corporate customer trips for about 25 years and have fished many of the western rivers, especially in MT, WY, UT, NM, ID, & CO. I have used many guides over the years and I have to honestly say that Rooster and the Stonefly Inn ranks among the very top of my list. Aside from being a fun and great guy to be with, his knowledge of trout fishing and knowledge of the local rivers is excellent. Sometimes I think he thinks like a trout. Another great attribute is that he happens to be a great chef. On the third and last day, I personally caught 60 very nice trout, (my best fishing day ever). I love to wade as well and the ranch stream and Ruby are strictly wading but you'll catch a lot more fish drifting. When I return I would fish the Ironman section of the Beaverhead, definitely the Jefferson, and Big Hole which I didn't get to fish. Recommend you stay at the Stonefly Inn and eat your meals there if possible."

Just like any fly fishing destination, getting to Montana can require some homework before you leave for your trip. Before you string up your rod streamside, there are several things to consider like flight reservations and car rentals.

The Stonefly Inn has put together this Outfitters Trip Planner page to assist you with your planning. Starting from the top, we hope this will take some of the frustration out of dealing with your travel arrangements.

We encourage all of our our guests to arrive in time for dinner (generally around 8 p.m.) the night before the first day of your fly fishing trip - keep this in mind when making flight reservations.

Be ready to fish when you arrrive! Purchase your Montana Fishing License online.
